The official Twitter account of The Democrats
sent out this video today:
The press covered up the extent of President Biden’s cognitive decline the best they could until it was exposed by the debate. Is there something they covered up about Vice President Harris as well?
More generally, I want to offer my take on Kamala’s life trajectory.
My first point is that a lot of rich Bay Area Democrats who knew her behind the scenes from years of socializing with her, such as the Widow Jobs, people who have plenty of choice in friends, seem to really like Kamala on a personal level. (It probably helps if her female friends have had a few glasses of Napa Valley’s finest while listening to Kamala express her concern and encouragement to them.)
And, Kamala seems to enjoy the domestic life she postponed until age 49.
It seems to me that Kamala was better cut out for living a traditional wifely role, but got pushed into her ultra-ambitious career by the prejudices of our time. Kamala would have been happier following an old-fashioned woman's path through life of marrying an ambitious man when young, having his children, making his home, and boosting his career through her formidable behind the scenes skills at hosting dinner parties and the like.
If instead of Kamala's arch-rival in the San Francisco DA’s office Kimberly Guilfoyle marrying Gavin Newsom, Kamala had married Gavin instead and then retired from her law career to become a high society lioness backing Gavin's ambitions with superb parties for rich donors, he might well be President today.
And she’d be making less troubled videos.
I wouldn't guess what she should or shouldn't do with her personal life as I don't know her, but she does seem perfect for some HR/administrative job where the requirements are more or less being a black belt at kissing up and kicking down and passionately regurgitating all the latest corporate-therapeutic jargon.
"Don't you ever let anybody take your power from you...." What exactly does this mean? Don't let anyone cut off my electricity? Tell me I don't know what I'm talking about? Censor me on Twitter? Erase me from the voter rolls?
Kamala does seem to have one great skill: she never speaks except in pure cliche, all her thoughts and language are as wooden as an Ikea chair and just as clumsily assembled. Whatever in the world she's best suited for, it has to require never getting anywhere near an original thought.
If she wanted a domestic life (which seems a lot more appealing to me than being president) she would have married younger. Instead she waited until she was 50.
