During the pregame show for Monday Night Football, Michelle Beisner* had a feature** involving the head coach and wide receiver of the San Francisco 49ers and sat down with their parents for an interview. The hook was that the father of the WR won two Super Bowl playing for the father of the HC over 25 years ago with the Denver Broncos. I thought of Steve because the wide receiver's mother Lisa played soccer at Stanford while Lisa's father won the silver medal in the 100m dash at the 1960 Olympics in Rome
Steve has written about this several times. Steve also "noticed" that Christian McCaffery was not an immediate starter while at Stanford because the son of Barry Sanders was ahead of him on the depth chart.
Maybe someone should tell Steve that using the word "noticing" will be seen as marking white males as racist during job/graduate school/college admission interviews.
