Sorry about what might seem like All Sports All the Time posting lately, But there is much to learn about more important issues from the perspective of the level playing field of sports.

For example, currently the cheapest single ticket to the soccer World Cup final match in suburban New York City on Sunday, July 19, 2026 is being offered for resale by scalpers for right around $10,000. Seat Geek is asking just under 5 digits:

Of course, if you want to sit with a friend, you’ll pay twice as much plus a premium for getting two seats together.

Why are ticket prices for world class events so much more expensive in the 21st Century than in the 20th Century?
