When I was a kid in the first half of the 1970s, a sizable fraction of hit songs on the radio were of the California mellow rock genre, such as “Summer Breeze” by Seals and Croft:
Dash Crofts of Texas has died at 87.
Other exemplars of Southern California rock include the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Joni Mitchell, few of whom were from Southern California.
