The fires have done a heck of a job of getting the grooming gangs scandal off the top of X. The bios of the arsonists will be interesting. So... yes to The Fonz.
I enjoy a good lambasting as much as the next guy but how is this 'spreading panic'?
As a dog owner I would love it if the cops took a violent interest in suppressing amateur fireworks displays. Here in LA it is hardly limited to Independence day.
That propane tank guy doesn't have the typical street zombie look (though hard to say for sure with the digital artifact in the pics) and a propane tank flame thrower is a bit complicated so maybe just a regular arson enthusiast excited by all the other flames. Good on those people for stopping him.
I’m surprised that Steve hasn’t had much to say about DIE in firefighting as that’s been a subject of some interest to him (and me) over the years. The fire chief out there looks to be Exhibit A. I wonder how many of the folks that nabbed the firebug were horrified that George Zimmerman dared to keep an eye on the hoodlum, Trayvon Martin.
Well, one law for me, another for thee, I suppose.
There’s lots of comments about the role of DEI over at the WSJ. People who live there say the black female mayor is completely incompetent. Of course they say same thing about Gavin Newsom.
I'm becoming an ageist. Bass is 71... and I just think that is too old to be in the physical shape needed to run the country's second largest city. And don't get me started on Janet Yellen, who looks even older than her actual age.
I want to blame underground secret societies of ethnic Jewish Christians line the ones Nero’s non Christian Jewish wife Pompea ( something like that ) blamed fir the great fire in Rome during Nero s reign .
Or maybe some Irish farm wife Mrs O Leary that we blamed for the great Chicago Fire in 1871 .
It s important to reestablish traditional religious and ethnic scapegoating to explain bad things .
The sheer number of fires is notable. How far can an ember blow before being extinguished? The fires don’t look that close together on the maps I’ve seen.
Today's Archer fire (which looks pretty well surrounded by now) near Tuesday's Hurst fire in the northern San Fernando Valley would seem like a plausible example of an offshoot fire caused by burning embers being blown some distance. It's a very windy locale where the wind is funneled through the mountain pass between the SFV and the Santa Clarita Valley.
But most of the other earlier fires started 10+ miles apart, which seems implausible for embers to be blowin' in the wind, especially without reports of fires starting up in-between. The Kenneth Fire on Thursday was a little closer than that to the Palisades Fire, but that one has an arsonist in custody.
Heyyyy....cool ...it ..Steve !. I'm glad you're okay. I just hope some proper reforms are built from this. Remember folks, when your insurance goes up next year ( irregardless of where you live in the continental U.S.) thank the government of California.
At least fire accident investigators are a bit like air accident investigators.
Technical guys in a job with very little social justice infiltration. Just focussed on finding out what happened so it doesn’t happen again.
So I think the cause of the LA fires (to the extent that it can ever be established) will be in the public domain some day.

Has anyone seen Potsy lately?

Good luck, Steve; God between you and all harm.

From my vantage point on the other side of the world whoever is in charge (LAFD, LAPD) seems to have done an incredible job on the evacuations orders.
Death toll is extraordinarily low given the scale of destruction.

Lots if ways to blame Js and homosexuals for this - God s wrath against Hollywood , Sodom and gamora
That's one way.

Right.
