NYT: Trump racistly appeals to black & Hispanic citizens
How dare Trump divisively promote the common self-interest of American citizens of all races over the sacred right of the 7 billion Pre-Americans to move here if they feel like it?
For over a decade, I’ve been explaining that the Grand Strategy of the Democrats is to benefit from America’s increasing diversity by representing a Coalition of the Fringes (or as Democrats would be happy to say, a Coalition of the Margins) against the Republicans’ shrinking Core American base of Americans who demographically resemble the Founding Fathers like George Washington and Ben Franklin.
Obviously, the Democrats’ strategy is divisive and ethically dubious (Importing ringers to vote for you? Really?), but it’s also one with a clear likelihood of success: the arc of history bends toward increasing diversity, so could you resist exploiting this trend if it were obviously in your interest?
Still, the obvious weakness in the Democrat Grand Strategy is that a Coalition of the Diverse doesn’t have much in common. What do descendants of American slaves with ancestral roots going back to 1619 have to do with immigrants who recently arrived? And what do transgenders have to do with immigrants from traditional cultures?
So the Democrats can easily turn into a circular firing squad.
The only solution to this inherent problem the Democrats have come up with so far is to unite their diverse coalition by fostering racist and sexist hate against Core Americans. And then when the victims of this blatant animus finally notice that the dominant cultural institutions have gone to war against their race and sex, using that as an excuse for piling on the hate.
In contrast, the New York Times complains, the Trump campaign is attempting to unify voters around being American citizens who therefore deserve certain privileges over non-citizens.
The Democrats are outraged that an organized opposition has emerged to their strategy of increasing their vote by importing more non-Americans who themselves and/or their descendants will likely become Democratic voters, and therefore Democrats deny that American citizens deserve any privileges in America over the 7.5 billion pre-Americans out there.

How Trump Exploits Divisions Among Black and Latino Voters
Donald J. Trump’s anti-immigrant message is exposing longstanding tensions and challenging Democrats’ hopes for solidarity.

In the Democratic imagination, “people of color” is a unifying term, a label for a durable coalition of Black and Latino voters, as well as Asian Americans, Arab Americans and Native Americans.
The Coalition of the Fringes/Margins/Diverse.
Of course, it only exists when anti-white hate is promoted as the unifying factor. When racist anti-whitism is objected to, the Democrats’ Grand Strategy quickly collapses.
Similarly, Asian-Americans have more in common with whites in college admission quotas or in street crime than they do with blacks.
Donald J. Trump is showing just how imaginary that unity might be.
