A month after the election, we finally have final California results for 2024. Here are the breakouts for huge (10 million population) Los Angeles County.
The most influential people live, roughly, in-between the 10 (Santa Monica) Freeway, or the short Marina Del Rey Freeway to the south of the 10, and the 210/134/101 (Ventura) Freeway to its north.
The entertainment industry district is extremely blue, with a few important exceptions.
The main pink areas in this region are in Beverly Hills, while the deep blue areas just to east of it are West Hollywood, which is very gay.
The southern parts of the Westside pink zone have a lot of ultra-Orthodox Jews and Russians, while the northern parts of Beverly Hills have a lot of Persian Jews and Ashkenazi zillionaires. To the northwest in the San Fernando Valley, pink Woodland Hills and Agoura Hills have a lot Persians, Russians, and nouveau riche Kashardian types.
Beverly Hills was quite sympathetic to Trump in 2020. It was the main place north of Huntington Beach where Trump supporters could rally without fear of Antifa thugs attacking them because the Beverly Hills Police Department believes in rule of law.
Before Biden dropped out I was eating pizza outside in Beverly Hills when a car drove up the street honking, decorated in pro-Trump. A woman, very ethnic looking, eating in the outdoor space of the next restaurant over, said "you wouldn't have seen that a few years ago." It was clear from her tone that she very much approved.
