Why Are Baseball Stadiums So Urban?

Among big league ballparks, 27 of 30 are in the city.

Due to 2024 Vibe Shift, gay pride month is less of a media obsession than it used to be.

Still, baseball stadiums tend to be in big cities -- e.g., Wrigley Field is about a mile from Boystown in Chicago. Gays tend to be well-organized in politics, so baseball franchises want their city councilmen on their side.

In big cities, the gay male voting bloc tends to be one of the more pro-business tendencies: lots of gay small businessmen who appreciate the ballpark for bringing well-heeled crowds into the city.

Granted, I'm generalizing from the Chicago Cubs.
