—Witnesses at the arena told What’s Going On in Rhode Island that the shooter entered the rink carrying two pink-colored firearms and a holster, and that some people initially believed the weapons were not real. Authorities have not publicly confirmed those details.

Nothing says lady more than toting a pair of pink guns on the way to killing your family!

Talk about a killer rack!

Absolutely love your work and efforts Steve but if this is true anger can be the only response.

Can MSM continue to ignore the unassailable stats on this clearly evident bloody trend? Incredibly my guess is they will.

Of course they’ll continue to ignore it—that’s what they do!

How naive of me to think this was a run of the mill family annihilation. Was this auto gynephile mad his family wouldn’t acknowledge his giant knockers ?

Fits in with the ramped up Drama Queen-itis one gets with this class.

Do it in public for maximum thrills.

Every few years, I ask several college friends to email me the names of movies we grew up with (most of us are '84 grads, with a smattering of '85 and '86; thus we're all in our early-to-mid 60's) that, for one reason or another, are so politically incorrect that they cannot plausibly be remade without wholesale bowdlerization.

Lots of great examples: Cruising, a William Friedkin flick with Al Pacino as an NYPD cop who goes undercover to nab a serial killer who stalks his prey in the underground gay bars and clubs serving the S/M meat market (in a twist native New Yorkers savor, the action takes place on the far West Village of the late '70's, formerly the site of the ACTUAL meat market, with lots of wholesale butchers); Deliverance (for obvious, pork-related reasons); They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (the ASPCA would have it canceled for the title alone); Last Tango in Paris (now that the actress appearing opposite Marlon Brando has gone public with her story of how making the film involved horrendous abuse from Brando and, to a lesser extent, director Bernardo Bertolucci; the dairy industry remains hopeful that a modern rewrite can bring the story to new generations...); Mandingo (do I really have to explain this one?).

But every time, the consensus we reach is that the one film from our youths that can never, ever, ever be remade in our lifetime is...Blazing Saddles. Grossly insulting to blacks (the scene in which Cleavon Little reenacts a hostage situation in an accent more appropriate to Stepin Fetchit than the wild, wild West), American Indians (Mel Brooks as a Yiddish-speaking Indian chief; say no more); women (Madeline Kahn as the Teutonic Titwillow herself, Lili Von Schtupp); small town rural America (every scene with residents of Rock Ridge portrays them as uniformly the kind of folk who might have served as models for the couple drawn in Edward Hopper's American Gothic; in case we don't get the joke, Harvey Korman's character actually refers to the good people of Rock Ridge as "morons"): Blazing Saddles is an equal opportunity offender. There will NEVER be a remake unless it's completely defanged and drained of all jokes that could possibly make some group uncomfortable. Knowing Mel Brooks, he's probably already made contingency plans in his will to ensure that lawyers perennially stand guard with motions for injunctive relief in the event his intellectual property somehow falls into the wrong (woke) hands, and some Hollywood idiot with more dollars than sense says, "let's make it a buddy movie with Kevin Hart and Ryan Reynolds [as the Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder characters]."

Today, though, apropos of the recent spate of men-who-think-they're-women shooting up the joint, a new contender emerges: a film that challenged sexual stereotypes to show how, in the end, "love is love." A film in which a man learns how to be a man by being a woman. I speak, of course, of Tootsie. What the "trans community" would make of an update of that one, we can only guess.

I expect the movie scene that most enrages trans activists is 'Goodbye Horses' in The Silence of the Lambs.

When I read this a couple days ago, the great Cosby joke of Norm MacDonald's came to mind (he tells it while on Seinfeld's comedians in cars getting coffee). Riff on it below.

"A friend of mine told me the worst part of Silence of the Lambs was the portrayal of someone in the trans community....and I disagreed.....

I thought it was the kidnapping, torture, and mass killing of innocent women."

At that same link, Jodie Foster says,"...my work as an actor" (not actress.)

Does she have a penis now? I can't keep up with this stuff.

So a lifting enthusiast goes trans, sort of like that Navy SEAL. What are the odds these guys were users of “supplements” in pursuit of strength that caused some kind of hormonal disruption leading to this? Obviously, they might have always had a paraphilia…

Or just kick them out of our society?

We've humored the all the various whiny minorities way, way, way too much across the board.

The fundamental right of people--especially the normal productive people--is to live in a community of people with agreed common norms, that help us maintain and reproduce our civilization.

We not only need a border, we need a whole lot of "the door's over there".

There has always been a high percentage of serious psychiatric comorbidities among transgender people. Countries with clear protocols for evaluating prospective persons for gender affirming care, such as Denmark, require that these conditions be resolved before engaging in treatment. Of course, because of the largely ignorant and careless pro trans politicization of this process, it is not done in the U.S. That is why there are these horrible incidents. These are mentally ill people who should have never been allowed to transition without resolving ( if even possible) their mental illness.

SJ's avatar

The correlation rate between the stereotypical high school shooter “I don’t like Mondays” personality type which emerged in the 80s-90s and trans disorders seems crazy high.

The Anti-Gnostic's avatar

Transgenderism is a mental pathology in itself and we need to stop affirming it with synthetic hormones and surgical evisceration of healthy tissue.

linda speer luck's avatar

Yes, gender dysphoria has been around for a long time. Treated with long term psychotherapy ( if at all). Most people exhibiting this in childhood were gay. And probably happier than most transitioners…..?

Last week I asked Grok the percentage of mass murders in the past decade committed by trans and was told less than half of one percent of them; the occurrence rate is so negligible statistics aren’t kept (now THAT I believe but not the reason). Then Grok helpfully and gratuitously pointed out that in fact, trannies are much more often the victims of violence at the hands of the straight.

Bullshit.

Salomon's avatar

Depends on where grok is getting its stats, the Obama admin had the threshold for 'mass shooting' lowered to 3 or 4 people stuck iirc. So that ends up including the dozens of 'block party gang conflict' that occur every weekend across the big cities of the US.

Eric Sowers's avatar

My assumption too, except for the gratuitous pro-trans editorial comment at the end. That kicked the reply from a matter of fact answer into the realm of ideology.

The Anti-Gnostic's avatar

The appropriate query is what percentage of grannies are mass shooters, which would skew the result toward what we see with blacks: they commit the minority of crime, but wildly out of proportion to their numbers.

*trannies - autocorrect doesn't like the mean word

It's puzzling to me that in this case, unlike last week's Canadian massacre, the media are correctly identifying this particular homicidal maniac as what he is, a man, dead name and all.

At one time, the plaintiff's bar was a major Democratic donor, but we rarely hear of them this century. It would explain why the drug makers and trans "treatment" industries have been so reckless: victims have had difficulty finding representation. You'd think someone would want to determine if it's the treatment contributing to the violence and not the nutcase alone. Likewise with SSRIs.

It seems like he may have been right wing, if his Twitter/X profile is real. He seems like a right wing boomer type. His Twitter/X background picture was a Chevy Camaro, and his handle was "@Tgirlcuda", with the "cuda" I'm assuming was a reference to the Plymouth Barracuda, the old muscle car beloved by right wing Boomers. He was also into bodybuilding.

Dave's avatar

He also had a large Nazi SS tattoo on his right arm.

Dave's avatar

The selfie videos of him online going around are all of him doing right wing things like riding his Harley, driving some sort of forklift or bulldozer, driving a motorboat, lifting weights, etc.

This is consistent with lots of MtFs, like Dierdre McCloskey, free market economist, or Jennifer Pritzker, retired National Guard lieutenant colonel and military historian.

Also Caitlyn Jenner, retired decathlete, and Lia Thomas, NCAA Div I swimmer in the extremely tough 500M freestyle.

Dave's avatar

His Twitter/X follows appear to be a mix of right wingers, white nationalists, and non-gay, straight female porn accounts, meaning porn accounts for heterosexual men. I wonder if he was following those porn accounts from before he went trans, or if he was into that porn after or while he was trans. Still being into women seems not to be unusual for men who go trans. Caitlin Jenner was still trying to date women after he transitioned.

Kelly Harbeson's avatar

AFIK Caitlyn Jenner has NOT had "bottom surgery". The shooter seems to have had mixed feelings about his own.
